Women Empowerment

We aim to improve the overall health and well being of poor urban and rural women. We believe that when we work towards women empowerment, the whole society benefits.

Empowering of women starts with income generation activities, Providing training and technical support to women which helps them to be independent. The women living below the poverty line can play a leading role in society by supporting their economic, social and personal development.

We strive to improve girls’ enrolment, retention, and academic performance in Government schools. We create special programs and make them participate in several training programs and impart them vocational skills and train them to self-manage their economic activity. The gain qualifications, which in turn, reinforces their capacities to apply to their activities.

These women being financially dependent on their husbands, occupy lower economic positions, in spite of their contributions to the household’s income. They have no financial autonomy,as they rely almost exclusively on their husbands’ resources. Many a times, they suffer abuse and violations in the realisation of their rights, entitlements and access and control over resources.

But unfortunately in India, far from being empowered, most women are denied even their basic rights like health, education, employment and a respectable status in society. According to a recent UNDP Human Development Report, India has a dangerously imbalanced sex ratio, the chief reason being rampant female infanticide and sex-selective abortions.

Keeping in view the above scenarios, we feel that helping women increase their income by providing them with employment opportunities, will make their life easier to a great extent.
