Disaster Relief
In the midst of the on-going pandemic, the labour class, poor residents of slum areas, are the hard hit. They cannot maintain social distance within their homes, as they are too small. With the government lockdown order and inadequate state provisions for food distribution, several families are sleeping hungry -- in their homes, stranded at railway stations or state borders.
We have in place a team of well-trained inhouse cooks who follow standard operating procedures to maintain hygiene and quality parameters. Since the ouytbreak of this COVID-19 pandemic, we have vigourously launched the dry ration, cooked food, and masks distribution campaign for the poor and needy. At the beginning of Lockdown 01, we strted with Distribution of dry ration and in a few days, distributed it to more than 300 families. In the Lockdown 02 phase, we started cooking food in our premises, packing it hygienically, and distributing it to the needy, in addition to the dry ration items, that we had already started during lockdown 01. Click here to view the Photo Gallery of Lockdown 02 distribution. During the Lockdown 02 period we distributed packed food and dry ration items to more than 200 families.
We are working with government authorities to make this possible. Daily, they were identifying localities where people are hungry and help us distribute the food there. we try our best to supplement the public health systems and supply the hygiene kits also, wherever required.
During the Lockdown 03 period, we got requests from different sources about requirement of Masks, as the number of cases were rising in Jammu and surrounding areas. During this period, dry ration, packed food and masks were distributed to more than 150 families.
